⚠️ This program is designed for adults 18+ who live in North Carolina. 

Part I: Learn the Process (6:30–7:15 PM) Not ready to file yet? No problem. This session covers what a legal name change involves in North Carolina — the steps, timeline, and what to expect — so you can plan ahead with confidence. 

Part II: Start Your Paperwork (7:30–8:15 PM) Ready to take action? Come prepared to begin your name change paperwork.
⚠️ Please bring a copy of your birth certificate — this is required to participate. 

About the Presenter Connie J. Vetter is an LGBTQ+ family law attorney who has served the Charlotte community since 1994, with a focus on name changes, gender marker corrections, adoption, and estate planning. She was named the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association's 2026 Leading Family Law Practitioner of the Year for her decades of advocacy and legal service to LGBTQ+ individuals and families across North Carolina.
