Thank you for your interest in joining the Carolinas LGBT Chamber of Commerce (CLGBTCC).

Our mission is to grow and advance economic success, equity & inclusion across the Carolinas for LGBTQ+ and allied businesses and professionals. We are working to build a future where Queer and allied businesses, alongside corporate partners, are visible, valued and lead with influence, driving advocacy and equitable opportunities across the Carolinas.

Know before you apply:

The Elections Committee will evaluate applications and propose eligible candidates to the current Board for nomination. All approved nominees will be added to a roster of candidates, and voted on by our full membership. Applicants will be informed of their nomination status and any applicants who do not meet qualification status or who are not elected to serve on the board are still eligible to serve on committees if interested. 

  • Applicants must be current members of the Chamber in good standing.

General Board Requirements:

All Board Members in this election assume their positions at the beginning of the calendar year, with an onboarding retreat held in January.  

Board Members serve two (2) year terms and must be reelected every 2 years unless filling a vacant position. Filled vacancies will be up for election based on the original term timeframe.

Board Members must attend regular Board meetings and act as a representative of the CLGBTCC at all times. Board Members shall actively participate in the activities and functions of the CLGBTCC. Other expectations may also be required by a majority vote of the board. Current resource documents such as the CLGBTCC bylaws and policies & procedures, may be supplied upon request for more information on Board Member Requirements.

When elected, Board Members are required to:

  • Maintain their membership in good standing (dues are current)
  • Attend a minimum of 80% of board & Committee meetings/events each year
  • Commit to the Chamber’s Mission and Standards of Business Conduct & Ethics
  • Complete and sign board agreements
  • Reside in North or South Carolina
